Self talk is the words we say to ourselves in our thoughts primarily, but also out loud. It may be the words that someone else said to you growing up or just limiting beliefs you have for yourself. You need to work on turning the negative self talk to powerful self talk. If you don’t it will inhibit your success because you won’t believe in yourself.
Going hand-in-hand with self talk is resentment. Resentment is that burning feeling inside when you think about something negative that happened to you or someone that did something negative to you. We’ve all had those things happen in our lives and you never will forget it. However, if you don’t do some work to let go of it, it will negatively affect your life. You may not realize it but it is always there under the surface. There is theory that harboring resentment leads to illness. Your body isn’t meant to harbor those feelings for an extended period of time.
In order to be a great negotiator, you have to consider negotiation with yourself. That includes working on anything in your life that may be affecting you in a negative way.
We are surrounded by negativity in our lives on a daily basis which makes it hard to shut it off in our heads. The media, TV and movies, music all contains negative messages. You have to take steps to counteract those messages in order to keep your mind clear and in a positive setting.
The Power is in The Work. You do The Work, you will have The Power.
