Cooperation Over Competition
Competition says, “I will win at any cost, even if it means taking you down in the process.”
Cooperation says, “How can I help you or be of service? What do you need personally or professionally?”!
Sports and other contests are driven by competition. There has to be a winner. In business and in life, however, we can look at things differently and have more of a cooperative mindset.
Working in cooperation says everyone wins and we aren’t looking to win at someone else’s loss. There’s enough room at the top for everyone so there’s no reason to step on others as we move up the ladder of success in life.
Cooperation encourages more communication and relationship building than competition. It encourages a level of trust because both sides know that the other side has their best interest in mind and want’s everyone to succeed. If you can keep this approach in your personal and professional life, it is likely to produce optimal win-win style results.
